Rebekah Warren

Democrat Rebekah Warren won election in November 2006 to the 53rd District State House of Representatives seat, replacing term-limited Chris Kolb. The general election was contested between Warren (26,985 votes), Republican Erik P. Sheagren (5898 votes), and Socialist Matt Erard (847 votes),
Warren had won the Democratic primary in August 2007 against Leigh Greden by a vote of 5168 (61%) to 3313 (39%).
Warren chairs the City of Ann Arbor's Community Development Executive Committee and volunteers with One United Michigan, P54, Washtenaw Democracy for America and a wide variety of community organizations. Rebekah has worked in Lansing since 1993, serving for nearly six years as a legislative assistant to State Representative Mary Schroer (D-Ann Arbor) and then Representative Hubert Price (D-Pontiac), and currently as the executive director of MARAL Pro-Choice Michigan (since 1999).
In 2007 Warren married Conan Smith.
Warren is a 1994 graduate of the University of Michigan's Residential College.
