"Hill dorms" is a collective term for the UM residence halls located along Observatory Road: Markley, Stockwell, Mosher-Jordan, Alice Lloyd, and Couzens. So termed because they are, well, on a hill.

Not as centrally-located as, say, West Quad, but unlike North Campus housing, they're within easy walking distance of Central Campus.
